i am doing this here because we get a lot of emails, say three fourths, are asking for $$ to meet some predetermined goal. i am not going to do that. who determines the goal? how is it used? i may be foolish to be doing this this way, but i do not have to fund raise.
Sen. Johnson Responds to House Republicans’ Request for Information on Ukraine
Sen. Ron Johnson had some firsthand information about the president’s policy toward the Ukraine. so, in response to a request to detail that information, he wrote a letter back. The first few paragraphs explain how that it is a game – Republicans vs. Democrats, and how he sees the Democrats are cheating to win. He also says, “…the false narrative of Trump campaign collusion with Russia all fit a pattern and indicate a game plan that I suspect has been implemented once again.” Obviously he will be playing this game for his team, trying to make sure his side wins.
When he does start to describe his knowledge of the administration policy for Ukraine, it is all about the corruption in the Ukraine government. He never remembers any talk of finding ‘dirt’ on the Bidens (how convenient). as far as he knows it is just to pressure the Ukrainian government to clean up the corruption. This is not bad, but, according to others, it was tied to a ‘quid pro quo,’ which is an abuse of the president’s office power. But Sen. Johnson does not know anything about that.
In writing of the federal employees testifying, he comments that they are supposed to be following the president’s lead, not making policy. If they disagree they should be persuading the president about the history of policy, or explaining the facts that should inform good policy. This is true – they are workers not elected officials. It is hard to discuss much with a person like Pres. Trump, though. He is belligerent and pedantic, so why bother, go with the flow, and blame the boss.
Sen. Johnson seems to have selective hearing, so did not hear that the peasants were expressing concerns about the president using his office power for his reelection bid. He just figures that they were Democrats trying to help the other side win, so anything they say is to be ignored.
I do like what he said about Andriy Bohdan – give him a chance. But the rest misses the mark because of his poor memory and selective hearing. Ya know, if you can not win playing by the rules, cheat. It seems that Sen. Johnson is challenged by facts. Here, as with climate change he just does not seem to understand the reality the same as those who you would expect to know more. The only facts he knows are those that agree with his politics, whether they are really facts is irrelavant.
abuse of power while in public office
It appears that Sen. Johnson supports the idea of public officeholders using their office to enhance their reelection. Is this what he plans to do his next election? I am not surprised that there are so many voters so jaded they do not bother to vote. Ya know, why bother, it is either money or incumbency that wins the elections anyway.
If this was a football game, I think that would be breaking the rules, but it is not, Sen. Johnson and Pres. Trump are just making America great.
I see also that the Republicans in the House are feeling like it is a game their team is trying to win even though they can not get he ball to score with. I just find it hard to understand how this abuse of power in office is not a problem, like obstruction of justice. They can say it is not about that stuff, but a partisan attack on the president, like it is a game they HAVE to win.
Regulations help keep us safe
An article in Sunday’s State Journal about the dam failure in Brazil highlighted lax regulations.
I am sure U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Oshkosh, would assure us he supports regulations that are necessary, but we have to be careful not to go overboard. I wonder where he would put the line between “necessary” and “overboard”?
At some point, companies will have to spend some money to ensure the safety of their workers, the viability of the surrounding environment, and the well-being of the populace in the neighborhood. The problem is: After you’ve dropped and broken a glass, you can be sorry as all get out, but it will not make it right — the glass will still be broken.
We can’t know what is truly enough regulation, or too much, except by listening to workers, owners and concerned citizens. Then we can hash out legislation that accommodates a lot of the problems, and hopefully makes for reasonable solutions to problems before we have victims.
I would hate to hear Sen. Johnson offer the victims “thoughts and prayers” and not much else.
racism
There been a lot of talk about Pres. Trump being racist, whether it is true or not, I want you all to know that I do not understand all this hate. For whatever reason, someone being hated for being black or Muslim or Indian boggles my mind! Why? What is the point?I just do not get it. There has been talk of how one race is worse because of IQ scores, but that is bogus. No matter what the statistics say, I figure that those on the bottom of whatever scale are just as good and worthy people as those on the other end.
buying Greenland
Yeah, like we have the money to do this. But Pres. Trump has a history of being bankrupt, so maybe it is just another bankruptcy we can look forward to.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/newsworld/trumps-plan-to-buy-greenland-explained/ar-AAFTM3x
i am not really serious
for what it is worth, I am not going to be trying to replace Sen. Johnson. I am worried that the whore monger, or one of his minions, will do me or my family harm (https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/15/politics/trump-threats-strategy/index.html). I have few to none resources to combat retaliation. Mary is not keen on my winning as well. This will not stop me from making fun of the president, or disagreeing with Sen. Johnson, though.
fairy tales
It occurs to me that as far as the environment or climate change is concerned, Republicans are the grasshopper, and Democrats are the ant in that old story, “The Grasshopper and the Ant.” http://read.gov/aesop/052.html
The Ants & the Grasshopper

One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored up during the summer, when a starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat.
“What!” cried the Ants in surprise, “haven’t you stored anything away for the winter? What in the world were you doing all last summer?”
“I didn’t have time to store up any food,” whined the Grasshopper; “I was so busy making music that before I knew it the summer was gone.”
The Ants shrugged their shoulders in disgust.
“Making music, were you?” they cried. “Very well; now dance!” And they turned their backs on the Grasshopper and went on with their work.
There’s a time for work and a time for play.
black lives matter
I drive pret’ near 400 miles a day, four times a week, 130 miles less on the fifth, for my job, & a nightmare I have is being in an accident, causing harm to someone (fault is irrelevant). This police officer caused harm to another, great harm, & now he has to pay the piper. A MAN DIED BECAUSE OF HIS ACTIONS!!! HE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! His act was not one that could not be stopped once initiated, like swinging a knife or firing a gun, he was doing some physical fighting. He could have stopped doing what he was doing anytime. However in this article the police commissioner was more concerned for the police officer than for the man who is dead.I do not get it. Killing a man is not such a bed thing? Protecting the police officer is more important? Are these policemen so afraid of blacks they need to use deadly force? I just do not get it.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/new-york-police-to-announce-fate-of-officer-in-eric-garner-chokehold-death-lawyer/ar-AAG1nDd
using an elected office for personal gain
Sen. Johnson should probably talk with Chuck Chvala about using an elected office to enhance their chances at reelection. Sen. Johnson will forgive Pres. Trump his transgressions in this regard, just like he forgives Pres. Trump’s whore mongering and child abuse (at the border), and obstruction of justice, etc., he would probably forgive Pres. Trump if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue.
This impeachment thing is really just about that one notion – abuse of power for political gain.
